I thought that these books looked really nice on the website. When they arrived, I was so disappointed. They are essentially cheap white 3 ring binders with cloth stuck to them with double stick tape. One of them did not even have enough material to hide the entire binder on the inside. I think that I would have been less disappointed if it at least covered the cheap binder. The cloth, and embroidery are nice, but that is all that I can recommend. They are pretty expensive, so I was expecting much better.

We choose this product because nothing equally could be found in our local stores. The best thing is that we could add in twin pages and same-sex parenting pages - there is very little out there even on line for queer parents. I also really like the generic reference to "parents and families" instead of my mom or my dad... Two things that could be improved are the photo spots could be made more for 4x6 horizontal and that the package begins with the generic pages like "was was born at ... weight" and then everyone can select their family type (single, queer, twins,....) rather than assuming a heterosexual two parent family type off the top. The pages of "firsts" could also be expanded and put on just one page each because they are at such different developmental times. The whole book was a little on the expensive side but I am happy with my purchase.
